INTEGRATED CLINICAL TRIAL OPERATIONS CENTER

CLINICAL DATA INTEGRATION & ANALYTICS

OUR CLINICAL TRIAL OPERATIONS SOLUTION REDUCES CYCLE TIME AND BOOST PRODUCTIVITY BY 60%

THE PROBLEM

Running clinical trials typically involves several disconnected software applications. For Contract Research Organizations (CROs), in that they serve multiple customers’ Clinical Trials, this dysconnectivity grows exponentially.

Traditionally, connecting these systems typically meant extremely high costs for consolidations of systems or for custom-built, point-to-point connections.

Due to budget constraints for most small-to-medium sized (SMB) niche CROs, many resort to using spreadsheets, leading to time spent correcting inefficiencies and errors.

OUR SOLUTION

Entitech Solutions delivered for an SMB CRO, cost-effective, flexible, and scalable Connections across multiple, disparate systems, for their multiple clients.

At Entitech Solutions, Connections include the connector software plus the on-going hosting and maintenance of this software.  (SaaS, Software as a Service where the Software is the Entitech Solutions Connectors!)

Solution includes:

  • Connections architecture with connectors between lower tier Electronic Data Capture (EDC), Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS), and Interactive Voice Response Solutions (IVRS), where previously little to no integration existed.
  • Data reporting and analytics ecosystem, patterned after the Lakehouse architecture.
  • Data Capture capabilities, where system gaps existed.
  • Robotics Process Automation (RPA), to automate data entry into the environment.
  • Internal portals for Clinical Project managers for enhanced Study Level Reporting.
  • External Client portals with “synchronization” capability for Clinical Project Managers to share real-time data with external clients.

THE RESULTS

  • Process improvements: Gaps in processes, such as enrollment planning, are closed through leveraging data capture and robotics capabilities.
  • Customer Success: External, customer-facing portals with “sync” features allow project managers to easily and more frequently share information with their client sponsors.
  • Decision making speed and precision: Advanced and easy to interpret reporting and metrics for business heads and executives help pinpoint critical factors to drive faster and more accurate decision making.
  • Innovations emerged: Visibility of connected and accurate data leads uncovered previously unknown team dynamics, some due to the recent COVID outbreak.
  • Investment Opportunities: Due to cost savings and increased awareness of information, a decision was made to invest in a Quality Management system (Related Case Study) to proactively track and triage quality issues.
